A young woman with curly brown hair, fair skin, and a bright smile, wearing a light blue top, against a dark blue background.

Katherine Wise is a filmmaker from New Orleans, Louisiana, whose work explores family, forgiveness, loss, and love.

A senior at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, she is completing her BFA in Motion Pictures and has been recognized for her work in film festivals across Los Angeles, New York, and Tennessee. Her films capture authentic moments that make audiences laugh, cry, and leave with a renewed sense of hope.

Katherine spent last summer in Los Angeles, California, working as a production intern with StudioCanal and Roserock Films on the Warner Bros. lot. That experience deepened her understanding of the collaborative nature of filmmaking and strengthened her commitment to telling stories that connect people through shared emotion.

She is currently applying to master’s programs in directing, where she hopes to continue developing her voice as a filmmaker devoted to creating authentic, emotionally resonant stories that celebrate the complexity of human connection.

She strives to create films that are both deeply human and profoundly hopeful — stories that make audiences feel connected, understood, and less alone.
